Injection Lipolysis, also known as intralipotherapy, is a minimally invasive medical procedure for targeted fat reduction. It involves injecting a substance directly into the fat layer below the skin (the hypodermis). After injection, the fat cells are destroyed and eliminated permanently from the body, meaning they are unable to store or accumulate fat anymore.

How Long Do Fat Dissolving Injections Last?

The treatment is expected to last indefinitely once you reach the desired results. Fat dissolving injections break down the fat cells, and these destroyed cells will not grow back. The treated area will have a permanently reduced capacity for fat storage. Efficacy is long-term, unless there is a great increase in overall body weight and fat mass.

How Many Treatments Do You Need?

The number of sessions depends on the size and location of the fat being treated. Generally, 3 to 4 sessions are required to completely satisfy the client and achieve the desired contouring results.

Does it Hurt? (Comfort & Downtime)

The patient only feels the pinching of the injection. However, we offer to apply local anesthesia to make the treatment as pain-free and comfortable as possible.

There can be a downtime of a couple of days, during which you may experience a little bit of pain, swelling, and possibly redness. These side effects typically subside within a few days.
